Oh, the madness!
May 17th, 2010 Posted 9:00 am
April was a busy and exciting month for us at Harvard Sweet Boutique. In addition to our annual rush to get special gifts to all those great Moms out there for Mother’s Day, we also managed to have some fun for charity’s sake here in Boston. Check it out…

On Tuesday, April 27 we participated in Chocolate Madness at Boston’s Cyclorama. Hosted by NARAL, the fundraising event was attended by over 600 guests who gleefully sampled the efforts of 25 professional chefs from all over the Boston area. Each of the cheftestants donated tastings of their chocolate dish as part of the competition, which included six unique categories.
Harvard Sweet Boutique made an excellent showing with our Coconut Macadamia S’mores, shown above. Toasted to order, this delectable treat with coconut macaroon shortbread, handmade vanilla marshmallows and 72% bittersweet Callebaut chocolate had some people showing back up at our table for seconds. And thirds! Do I hear fourths, anyone? Folks seemed to also dig the table display, which featured a “marshmallow tree” and a campy campfire.
While at the event, Sue George and her trusty staff of three managed to sample quite a few of the other offerings (who WOULDN’T volunteer for this job?), including local treats from Christina’s Ice Cream, Taza Chocolate, Petsi Pies and Kickass Cupcakes. We had a blast, got plenty of “mmm’s” “ohhhhh’s” and “ahhhhhh’s,” and are grateful for the opportunity to help a worthy cause…

They like us, they really like us!
June 16th, 2009 Posted 9:00 am
Who doesn’t love seeing their name in print? We admit, we here at Harvard Sweet Boutique are certainly guilty of this little pleasure. Knowing that someone, somewhere, thought enough of us to put it down in writing really inspires us. Following are some examples of the online inspiration that keeps us going:
- Molly Tully, of New Jersey Bride was impressed with our edible event centerpieces, calling them “affordable” and “adorable.”
- The Charlotte Observer’s Carolina Bride editor found our idea for creating centerpieces out of favors to be “clever.”
- The blogging moms at The Voice of Mom, normally skeptical when it comes to the quality of mail-order treats, urged others to experience the “delicious freshness” of our mint brownies.
- At Mom’s Favorite Stuff, where several of our brownies as well as the Chocolate Glazed Macadamia Caramel Shortbread Bars were sampled, the moms declared the uprising of a new Harvard Sweet Boutique fan club.
- Our “enticing” packaging and “made from scratch” approach to baking is what impresses the kind editors at Fête á Fête.
Ideas for Graduation Day
May 27th, 2009 Posted 10:00 am
Do you know a proud graduate who is celebrating their big day this month? If so, you might want to help congratulate them with a custom-designed gift box of freshly baked sweets.
Harvard Sweet Boutique prides itself on using only the freshest ingredients and baking the tastiest, most memorable sweets. But it’s our custom packaging that really gives our gifts that extra “sumthin’ sumthin’” that makes folks sit up and take notice before they even untie the ribbon and take off the lid.
Let us help you select a box and ribbon in your graduate’s school colors to make their gift not only delicious and beautiful, but personal and thoughtful. Visit our site to get familiar with our products, and make a custom selection, or just call us toll-free at 1 (888) 5-SWEETS to discuss your preference for box and ribbon colors.
